Drilling Holes

Hi Guys,
This is my first build so this may well be an incredibly stupid question:

I have a Lian Li all aluminum case with an Asus P5Q Deluxe Mobo and a Quad 2.4 processor. When the Quad arrived it didn't have a cooler so after looked at third party coolers. After doing some research I settled on a Thermaltake Big Typhoon 120 VX because it was pretty cheap and in tests for outstripped most high-end coolers.

Now, here's the question: I was thinking of drilling some holes through the aluminum side panel (round about the location of the fan) so that the cooler could pull air in from outside the case.

1. Is this a good idea?

2. Is there any reason for not doing this?

Cheers,
Simon

Drilling Holes

just cut out a hole and put a fan grill over it...

try the case as is first and see hat temps get too...then leave the cover off....you'll know right away if you need to add more cooling fans or holes...
