File transfer size limits
I have a customer who just purchased a 1T external hdd to use as a backup and storage for his home movies. Some of these movies are as large as 9Gb he tells me. He's run into a problem when trying to copy or move these files to the new hdd. He gets a message that the files are too large. Anyone ever heard of this issue? He's using XP Pro SP3.

File transfer size limits
I think i ran into a similar problem about a year ago.
It was with a WD external, and trying to transfer a 4gb iso to the external.
I was using Vista HP sp1.
I think I just ended up using smaller files at the time to fix that problem. (Vobs instead of iso)

Make sure the external drive is NTFS, not FAT32.

FAT32 has a 4gb file size limit. Most prebuilt externals come preformatted FAT32.

Bingo! I bet that's it. Thanx guys. He's driving up on Sat am so I can service two pc's. I'll have him bring the external too and give it a look.
