Question I ( PCMech Forums Video, Audio and Multimedia )

I

hello, i need help with an alienware area 51m laptop. model number: 5620D

I bought it used off ebay and I was told by alienware that this laptop has a ATI radeon 9000 videocard.
But... everytime I go to install the drivers it asks for a standard VGA driver to be installed first. I have had no luck finding this standard VGA driver. Can someone help me find one, or give me some ideas on how to install the drivers for this vieo card without that standard VGA driver?

I have tried to cancel the install of the VGA controller so that I can install the ATI drivers. It still asks for that standard VGA driver no matter what I do. And it says that I do not have the proper INF file.

Can someone please help me... this is getting rather frustrating, and I don't want to throw a perfectly good laptop out my window in frustration. lol

thank you in advanced for the help!
