AMD 5400 Overclocking Hyper Transport
Hi there PCMech. Been a while since I dropped by!
I have a Biostar A770 A2+ motherboard and an Athlon X2 5400+ dual core processor. I was wondering how far I can push an overclock or what is the safest way to do so, and I'm unsure of something. My processor says it supports 2000mhz Hyper Transport and my motherboard supports 2600mhz Hyper Transport.
I already have an overclock of my processor in effect from 2.8ghz to 3.0ghz and the voltage is at 1.4v. Does this seem safe? And what is safe to change my Hyper Transport speeds to?

No over clocking is safe in my opinion. Is the processor not giving you enough performance?

The processor seems pretty fine for my uses, and I may back off of my overclock. However, I really do need to know what settings to use for my Hyper Transport (HT).

I have gotten that chip to 3.4ghz easily with HT speeds around 1200mhz (2400)
it seems to like HT speeds right at 1200mhz for high clock...
3.0ghz is safe yes....
