CD Drive replacement Dell Dimension 8400
Hi folks,
I've got a Dell Dimension 8400 Desktop. The CD drive is not responding. When I tried the Dell web site I couldn't even find a replacement even though the computer is only about 4 years old. Any help on model and place to buy a plug in replacement and how to do it would be greatly appreciated. I am not a computer guru but think I could replace it with some help. Looks like it's a standard 48x DVD+RW - IDE. According to the specs, a replacement should be jumpered cable select. You should be able to find one at any store that carries computer supples, or online at Newegg.com
