Which drive to install to

Hello, I'm running vista ultimate 2 g Ram. I'm ready to try Windows 7. But, I do not want to installed in my vmware or external drive. Any other option could help me out besides get a new ata drive?
At this point, is it better install it in a new drive?
I have Ubuntu as well, but in vmware and I hated cuz it makes the pc run slowly.

Which drive to install to

If you don't have a spare empty partition on your current drive - your Only option is to use another drive.

I can make an empty partition. Any articles where I can do this?

I've had great success with gParted boot cd: http://gparted.sourceforge.net/livecd.php

As always, when modifying partitions, back up important data first.
