Hey guys, I've been trying to get an accurate list of the current art status for the units in the game, so that we can have a better idea of where Blizzard is on the art development currently...So without further ado, from what I gathered, here's the current status on the units' art for all 3 races:

Marauder - Finished.
Reaper - Finished, but could undergo polishing.
Ghost - Finished, but could undergo re-design or polishing.

Hellion - Finished.

If anything has changed or if you think or know I posted an incorrect status for one or more units, go ahead and tell me in this topic, I will update it accordingly. As you can see, there isn't much left until the game is fully polished and ready for public use. (Probably that it will all be finished in approximately 2-3 months.)
 

Art completeness is subjective, and according to Samwise under constant re-evaluation. So what you're attempting to do is futile.
 

How did you gather this? Do you have any sources on any of this?
 

Finished is more of a "stable"status, as in, they're not going to tackle the art for that unit anytime soon.

And besides, if the beta is this year and the game comes out next year, it's likely that the art will not be revamped or changed alot compared to the past.

And my sources are just my memory and that recent PC Gamer article, which gave me an overall idea of where they are on the art process currently. By all means this isn't a 100% accurate list, but rather a guess or estimate.
 

Agreed with the 'stable' status. Anything is subject to change on any basis, it's not finished until the game is shipped.

Wow I can't believe i wasted time reading this pointless post. The original post is very good though, well done.
 

I would call this list a good guess, and Im not against anything like that. After all, there isnt much to talk about here.

From what I can gather though:

Terrans - Almost done, minor things to work out.
Protoss - Some units need work, but style is there.
Zerg - Not done. Not all units are final, some placeholders.
 

As far as our guesses can go, this is actually a pretty accurate list.

What is it based on Nicol? Some units remain with notably higher poly-counts than others. Obviously this is reason to suspect that the lower poly-count unit is due for a polishing session at one point or another.

Reaper, for instance, hasn't had significant tweaks since we first saw it, and that's been a while. Neither has the Colossus, whose current model does not support its attack animation (as admitted by Blizzard). Most of this is pretty common sense stuff.
 

This all looks great. Has anyone heard anything about a release date? I've been kinda out of the loop for a bit. I'm sure the release date is an enigma on everybodies minds but I figured I'd ask just in case.
