The Beginning of End

Blizzforums will be shutting down all of its StarCraft operations. We will relocate here when the SC:L forums are 100% operational: http://sclegacy.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=2

Yes, by all means, just shock the hell out of everyone and tell them that their time here is over.

Brilliant!

Probably one of the few times I've actually agreed with a sentiment of yours. Really short notice.

Please. There's no delicate way to do it - it's on a short notice no matter which way you slice it. People should take it seriously so they're prepared to move. Better to be shocked now than in 24 hours when it's "oh shit, everything's gone".

PS: This place might still be archived, so you guys shouldn't worry too much about backing up the build order archive, other posts, etc.

I said it in another thread and I am going to say it again here.

How can BlizzForums (a forum for fans of Blizzard games) not have a StarCraft section?

SCLegacy should have their own forums and I hope they are very successful, but why close this subsection of BlizzForums?

I am a Blizzard fan first and a Starcraft fan second. I want to be part of a community that discusses all Blizzard titles.

Hihi Gradius! I was wondering if there will be some sort of "post-sign" to let SC:S regulars/viewers know what happened so that they will not go to the auto-conclusion of "*&@$!, SC:S crashed again" or the like =).

I will have no reason to visit BF anymore.

My post from the other thread which applies here:

The 24 hours is not my deadline. There will also be a notice (hopefully) telling people where they have moved. We're not "forcing you to join our collective". I tried to set up the StarCraft: Brood War forum so that it could solely be for you SCS folks. The mapping discussion goes on in a subforum, and the lore discussion is only allowed in the StarCraft II forum. The only thing that's changed is you have a different place to post.

I apologize if it seems like I just sprung this on you guys, but I just wanted to make sure you're actually ready to move, and not surprised later when the forum actually does shut down. I sincerely think that "Oh hay guys, just dropping by to say that your forum will be gone in 24 hours. No biggie" wouldn't have cut it.

EDIT: I think that much of the stigma for the move comes from the fact that the SC:L forums, in their current state, look nowhere near as good as BF. But keep in mind that the graphics for them were done by a coder, no real gfx work has yet been done on them, and the width issue will soon be fixed.
