CSS Certification

I have almost landed a job, but the client has asked me to show some sort of CSS Certification showing I know it. As I have shown him my Zend Certificate. I told him that I am pretty sure there is none, as there should be no need for one.

What are your thoughts?

The HTML Developer Certificate is for developers who want to document their knowledge of HTML 4.01, XHTML, and CSS.

I would think most employers would be more interested in a portfolio or a degree.

Edit: I took that CSS quiz - I got 20/20 in less than a minute.

Here is Website - make it valid (X)HTML without using frames/tables for layout or inline styles - is the only way to show if you know how to use CSS.

I've never been asked to prove that I'm certified. As Mark has pointed out, showing your portfolio should be enough for an employer to see whether you understand CSS or not.

The only time I could see it may be useful is if a company is employing someone to look after their website but doesn't actually understand CSS themselves so can't determine whether you have the skills they need.

Certification is a way for the certifying company to make money and nothing else. This employer doesn't know anything.

@C. Ankerstjerne, I completely agree, I tried taking the test as well and was a bit flummoxed at getting that one wrong

I thought it was a bit odd of a request to see a certification for CSS at all things.

I searched Google, and that W3 Schools and the site was "Service Unavailable".
