SVS ROSENUT owners question
So i'm bouncing back and forth between the Ultra and a 113, but the last test is how well it will match my mains. The ultra & plus come in the "rosenut" veneer but I am wondering if the grain and color will match both of my front speakers? Does the rosenut look different in different lighting conditions? heres a pics of what I have; thanks!

SVS ROSENUT owners question
My Rosenut's appear to be a slightly lighter shade that is a touch more orange/red than the pic of your speaker. Of course, it is also not a high gloss finish. I think it will be close but not a perfect match if that is what you are shooting for. Have you contacted SVS to see if you can order finish samples?

Mine is definitely more reddish in color than your speakers but not as red as the photo of the SVS above. In any case, it won't be a perfect match with your speakers.
But close enough, I think.

^correct sir and yes they are behemoths! (150lbs and 6ft tall to be exact) Dont find to many people running them..I think they sound amazing Anyhow...Thanks for that close up pic of the rosenut, it does look more reddish then my bostons. I think the 2 colors will clash. I guess now I am stuck with piano black...

I bet the E100s rock...may get them someday. I'm running E70s (LRC) & E60s (Surrounds) and love them.

SVS ROSENUT owners question
When I was in the market for a sub many years ago, SVS was willing to do a custom finish. Speak with Ed Mullen. It is possible that SVS's business model may have changed since I last investigated this idea. There was/is an upcharge to complete this custom finish as expected. To complete my request, all I needed to do was send SVS a swatch of the case goods I was attempting to match.
IF the SVS has a much more pronounced "Red" finish then your speakers, it will draw attention not only with the color but the size of the box too compared to the JL. This also could be contingent upon your room size. Small room, more physical presence, larger room, less physical presence. If you prefer the SVS output over the JL product, you could always order the SVS sub in gloss black if you don't want to risk the mismatch of your speakers?? Black works fine with any color finish of a speaker, cabinet, stand, etc. IMHO. However, this is always a subjective experience and decision. Much luck!!!

Please remember this was around 2001-2003 if my memory serves me well. Ed wasn't working for SVS at that time, but writing reveiws and living in NY. However, Ed and I exchanged numerous emails and he was well connected at SVS and directed me to the owners. Also, the upcharge was substantial and not just a few hundred dollars.
Edit.. I just checked my email and it was 2004.

SVS ROSENUT owners question
You have a couple of excellent sub options there but A true wood color match would be difficult if not impossible. WAF aside, I would concentrate on finding the subwoofer that meets my needs sound wise. That is what it will come down to eventually anyway.
