Brake disc pad grease

Do all brake discs/pads require lubrication?
I'm asking because Sytner replaced all my discs and pads recently yet when I got the car MOT'd on Friday the guy doing it enquired as to why there was no lubricant on the discs (or pads, I forget).

I asked him if it was strange as I don't know much at all and he said yes but if they aren't making any noise then it isn't a big deal

Should there be a lubricant??

Brake disc pad grease

Good God man, don't be lubricating your discs!!

Normally, i put some copper grease on the BACKS of pads and if changing the discs, on the hub to stop the disc from sticking to it.

Generally keeps things moving nice and freely, but if you're not having any problems with squeal or caliper seizures, i wouldn't worry.
