Good morning all. Its pay day and i fancy a new mobo. I currently have a q6600 running at 2.88Ghz but fancy more. It needs atleast 4 sata and 5.1 audio on it. Im using 2x2gb ram ddr2 800 and a 8800gt 512mb gpu. It also needs to be pretty easy to overclock aswell please.

apart from the profiles will the BIOS on your existing mobo let you set things like CPU:RAM ratio & CPU/RAM/chipset voltages manually?

im using one of them artic freezer pro's. On the motherboard i have at the mo there is overclocking profiles which will overclock it by a percentage. I have it at 20% at the mo but if i try 30% it wont boot up. Which motherboard do you recommend?

If you're running on stock cooling, that's the first thing I'd change for a healthy overclock. Was limiting me somewhat. Then perhaps change of motherboard.

sorry about the late reply decided to get a new case before my motherboard (p182). Currently i have a asus p5kpl-vm. I have got my Q6600 up to 2.88Ghz just by using a overclocking profile in the bios but i can not see where i could get it any higher. Still not too sure what i want next. Any ideas?

could you give me any examples and what speeds i could get out of my Q6600? dont really want to spend more that ?60
